The Sleepy Pi is designed to plug directly onto the GPIO of the Raspberry Pi and supplies power to the Raspberry Pi via the GPIO header.
There are two methods of supplying power to the system:
On initial power up it is recommended that use install the Power Bypass jumper to power the Raspberry Pi. This is a manual override and you need to remove it to power off the Raspberry Pi. The User button can be used to power the Raspberry Pi on & off with suitable code running on the Arduino (See the ButtonOnOff example – pre-installed with the Sleepy Pi)
DO NOT power the Raspberry Pi from it’s own USB connection – the Sleepy Pi will not be able to control the power.
DO NOT use a keyboard or mouse powered from a USB powered hub. This will bleed 5V into the system and the Sleepy Pi will be unable to control the power to the Raspberry Pi.
The Sleepy Pi includes:
To use the Screw Terminals wire linking jumpers must be installed as required to connect the I/O pins you need to the Screw Terminal configuration you want.
